Minister of Education Lays Foundation Stone for the New City Campus of the University of Somalia (UNISO).

The Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Faarah Sheikh Abdulkadir, today officially laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new City Campus of UNISO a landmark project that marks a significant step forward in strengthening the country’s higher education infrastructure.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held at the university campus, was attended by senior officials from the Dahabshiil International Bank, the primary financiers of the project, along with executives from Mogadishu Stars Construction Company, the firm entrusted with executing the construction of this modern facility.
During his remarks, the Minister emphasized the vital importance of equipping the University of Somalia with a new city campus that reflects the demands of modern higher education. He stated that the project aligns with the government’s broader efforts to improve the quality of education and expand access to advanced learning opportunities across the nation.
Representatives from Dahabshiil International Bank expressed their delight at contributing to a meaningful and impactful national project that will elevate the standards of Somalia’s education sector. Meanwhile, Mogadishu Stars reaffirmed their commitment to delivering the project with excellence, transparency, and full adherence to the implementation schedule.
The new UNISO city campus is expected to become a major institutional asset, significantly enhancing the university’s capacity while providing students and faculty with a safer, more modern, and conducive academic environment. Once completed, the facility will stand as a symbol of progress, resilience, and the continuous growth of higher education in Somalia.
